Marketing & Events Coordinator

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the marketing, media, and events of the organization. This is achieved in alignment with the core values of BGC Canada as well as focusing on key issues and priorities of our community.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Ensure that BGC Battlefords provides a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child and youth development, relationships and mentoring opportunities for children and youth.
- Fundraising and special event coordination:
- Take the lead role in planning, organizing, and executing special events and fundraisers undertaken by the organization.
- This includes following the developed thank you procedures for event donors/supporters and participants (when applicable).
- Marketing and Promotions:
- Develop/create marketing and promotional items for the organization including, Posters, brochures, Infographic, Annual Reports, Monthly “At The Club” articles for the newspaper, and monthly Club newsletters.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s website and social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Of utmost importance is accuracy and to meet the organization’s promotional and marketing needs through these mediums.
- Other:
- Create business cards for the organization and specific employees (as required) as well as name tags for individual employees (as required).
- Will work closely with the other office positions within the organization to ensure operational excellence.
- The Marketing & Events Coordinator may be responsible for other duties as described by the Executive Director.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Willingness to learn and grow in your position
- Knowledge, experience and/or education in event planning, website development, social media, and marketing
- Knowledge of computers, social mediums, and related experience with Microsoft software
- Skill in organizing work for self and others
- Ability to be creative and flexible

- Ability to work well with limited supervision
- Effective communication skills both orally and written
Qualifications:
- Related education/ certification
- Minimum one year experience
- Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Current certification in Standard First Aid/CPR C
- Valid class five driver’s license
- Must be bondable with willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Other:
- The Marketing & Events Coordinator may be asked and encouraged to take additional training opportunities that are appropriate for the described above position.
- Position primarily works day-time hours Monday to Thursday; however, additional hours may be required to ensure there is adequate position coverage and for Club events.
- Must be able to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
